Nate looked at his watch. He had been sitting on the dock for about twenty-eight minutes now. This whole time, he had been using the time to think. Nate had some girl problems, like always. Nate had to admit it, he was still in love with his ex-girlfriend. He didn't know why, it was just hard to not love Ashley. Then, on the other hand, was Nate's new friend with benefits, Autumn. She was just beautiful inside and out. Nate couldn't describe her. He had to get his mind off of these girls so, he started to sing a song. Obviously, it was about Ashley.
"You left without a single word, not even sorry. It might've hurt worse to hear you say I'm leaving goodbye. But, you're smile still makes my heart sing another sad song. I can't forget it, won't regret it cause I'm still in love with.. you."
All these emotions were built up inside of him. Nate wished he could just spill to Autumn and Ashley, both. Ashley - I love you so much, no one can replace you. I don't know what happened with us. I want it back. Autumn - you are my best friend and I want to give us a shot. What was Nate thinking? He had to like one of these girls more but Nate couldn't think. Nate was going to go onto the second verse but heard someone behind him. His heart beated faster as he whipped his head around.

Nate felt that feeling in his stomach as he saw it was Ashley. He saw that she had tears in her eyes, which made him feel even worse. "Oh, Hey, Ash," Nate said with a slight frown on his face. Nate looked into her eyes, they were gorgeous. Everything about Ashley was right, they were just slightly fading at the time. And, Nate had little feelings for someone else.
SHE WAS ALL I EVER WANTED.
SHE WAS ALL I EVER NEEDED & MORE.
Nate gave her a sweet smile, to send her a sign that he was okay. That look faded fast when Ashley asked about the song. "Uh," Nate looked around like the answer was hidden in a tree. "No one," Nate said, trying to find a way to change the subject. Nate looked at her, "So, what brings you here?" Nate gave her a reassuring smile.

Ashley smiled and then pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them and smiled. "Hi Nate" She said responding back. She laughed a little then smiled back at him. She looked at him with a slight look of confusion. "No one?" She asked him. She then looked at him once more. "What brings me here? Well lets see just getting away from the cabin and stuff" She said lying. She honestly was up here because he was this is where he always came. She then began to sing and looked at him.
I remember when we kissed

I remember those simple things
I remember till I cry
but the one thing I wish I forget
the memorie I wanna forget
is Goodbye
She then smiled she gave him a little hug, "Um you werent really supposed to here that" She said smiling a little. She looked at him and then looked out at the lake and sighed.

Nate ran his fingers threw his brown, curly hair. Did Ashley just say what he thought she said? Did that just happen? Nate shot Ashley a really confused look. He sighed, knowing Nate would have to approach Ashley on this situation. What he would give to kiss those lips of hers like back then.
Nate grabbed the nerve to grab both of her hands then hold them. As he did that, the words came out, "Ashley-" Nate looked deep into her eyes, "Do you still like me?" He knew the answer was yes. Hopefully, their trust would take over and they would have a nice, easy conversation. Please, let this go right.

When Nate grabbed her hands she sighed a little and then smiled holding back her tears, "N-ate" she started she coudlnt speak it was just so hard "Yes I do and I know that you know that and.." She said slowly. She sighed and looked away, "Im sorry nate" She said sighing. She looked away for a minute and then back at him. She looked at their hands and smiled, she then had flashbacks of them and she sighed as she looked at him. "I know you probally don't like me but I still want to be friends, And if we cant be friends then what can we be?" She asked him sighing and smiling a little.

Nate knew this was serious when he saw the tears in her eyes. Nate looked in her eyes then said, "You don't know how hard this is for me," He felt a bad feeling in his throat, like he couldn't finish. Nate couldn't believe this was happening. "On a happy note," Nate sighed then forced a smile. He continued, "I still like you."
Nate felt tears coming, he couldn't deal with this. His brothers and Nate were known to be tough. But, Nate couldn't hold this in. Ashley meant too much. "You are my best friend-" Nate smiled at the memories. "I'm not losing that," For god's sakes, it's been fifteen years. Nate didn't lie when he said Ashley meant the world to him. Oh no, what was he getting himself into?

Ashley looked up and smiled, "you do?" She asked hi smiling. She looked around and the thought about the song she had sung a few minutes ago.
I can honestly say you've been on my mind
since I woke up today (up today)
I look at your photograph
All the time
these memories come back to life
and I don't mind
She sighed as she thought about the song she then looked back up at Nate, she had one question for him, Why did he brake up with her? She cleared her throat. "But I just have one question for you that I need yo to answer" She said in a soft and scratchy tone, that usually ment that she was about to cry. "Why did you breakup with me?" She asked him trying to hide the tears.

Nate slowly let go of her hands. Pretty soon, his face was buried in those hands, hoping to never come out. He wish he could go back in time now, and fix all of this. Then, Nate wouldn't be here. Swinging his feet, Nate was thinking hard. "Kind of had other feelings," Nate said, quietly. Nate made a mistake, that sounded mean.
Nate cleared his throat, "I'm just being totally honest with you," That is the only thing he could be around Ashley. She was Nate's best friend for life, literally. It was hard not to be honest to that. "It's confusing-" Nate said, "I'm really sorry." Nate continued, hoping Ashley knew what he was talking about.

Ashley felt there hands realese she sighed and looked at him, "Oh ok..." She said looking down at the water. She sighed as she saw her face in the water. She looked at him and smiled a bit. "no no its ok I understand" She said she really didnt understand but she did so it was confusing. "So have you met the new girl Autumn?" She asked him. She then thought about a few things, Could Nate like Autumn? She thought to herself. "nah" She said outloud. She covered her mouth with her hands, and giggled a bit.

Nate didn't want to just be done that quickly. He had a lot of thoughts going through his head that he needed to get out. "I still love you," Nate said. Not that thought! Why did that come out of his mouth? Well, it was true. At least, he was being completely honest.
Nate looked at Ashley wide eyed when she talked about Autumn. Wasn't that ironic? Nate decided to play it somewhat cool. "Oh yeah," Nate said, still not smiling, "I've met her," Nate decided to end there. If he went on, Ashley would suspect something.

Ashley giggled a bit and then blushed, "I have missed you for so long and I didnt no why we lost each other" She said sighing. "I still love you too" She said smiling. She looked at him, "Oh you have seen her? What did you think about her?" She asked him smiling once more.

Nate let off a little smile then rested his hands on top of Ashley's hands. "I will always love you," Nate said quietly, but looking in Ashley's eyes. How could he not love her? Nate had too many great memories with her. They were hard to forget.
What did Nate think of Autumn and has she seen her? Oh my, Nate had seen Autumn, millions of times. So much that Nate even liked her a bit. "Oh, she's cool-" Nate thought of continuing but didn't. He didn't need to get himself more trouble.

Nate rolled his eyes, "Yeah I have," Nate said that, quietly, like the rest of his conversation. He was usually a quiet person. Ashley brought out the fun and loudness in him but not right now, obviously. Nate looked at Ashley with confusion. "Yes?" Nate wondered what she wanted.

Ashley smiled and then looked out at the water, "oh nothing" She said sighing. She smiled and looked at him. "So how have you been so far?" She asked him smiling once more she laughed a little and then thought about the songs.
