So, lately Shane had noticed he'd been spending a lot of time by himself during camp ... but those lonely times usually led to him bumping into a familiar face. But today, nothing ... no one. He hadn't seen anyone really at all today. Which made Shane feel really sad. He would of liked to see anyone. But that was a no. So Shane went back to his dorm, picking up his guitar and doing the very thing he does way too much. He played to himself, humming a song in his head as he strummed his guitar.
After a few minutes of playing his guitar he placed it down and picked up his laptop. He turned it on and waited for the screen to load. He then opened a file, where he kept all of the pictures on his computer in and looked through the photos. The photos of were his family, friends and himself. He liked looking at photos, especially ones of his friends. Not only on his laptop, but all around his cabin room were photos. Shane thought about heading out to find someone, but then ... maybe someone would come and see him.

(I know were all ready RPing, but I just had to respond to this one too! =)
Sam sighed as she walked down the dirt path to her cabin. She had been spending a lot of time alone in her cabin lately. It wasn't that she didn't have friends, she just had a lot on her mind. First, there was Autumn, who was apparently her step sister, and then there was Shane. She really liked him, but she wasn't sure how he felt about her. She sighed again when she got to the diverged path. To get to her cabin, she would go right. But then again, the counselors cabin was to the left. She could always go see Shane. Or would that seem desperate?
After a moment, Sam took the left path and walked towards Shanes cabin. She walked quickly up the steps and paused before she knocked. What if the other counselors were in there with him? She would definitely seem wierd. She took a deep breath and knocked lightly on the door. She would just have to hope for the best. Hopefully he would be alone.

Shane jumped off of his bed and over to where he kept his clothes. He opened the drawers and scavenged through his shirts. He then picked out a black and white stripped one. He took off the red shirt he was currently wearing and switched them. The shirt was only slightly big for him, but he didn't care. He was a guy. He sighed. He was thinking about a few things. One in particular: Sam. He really liked Sam ... he was pretty sure she liked him back. They had always been best friends ... would it seem awkward? Even if they both did like each other.
Shane then heard a soft knock on the door. He turned his head and the peeked his head out the window to see who was outside of his cabin. Ask and you shall recieve? he thought. He smiled as he went to the door and opened it. "Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in." he teased, smiling at Sam. Could he tell her?
[ ooc ;; haha i'm fine with that. X] ]

Sam smiled when Shane came to the door. She was glad he answered and no one else did. Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in. She smirked at him and shrugged. "Well, if you don't want me here, I can leave." She teased. Hopefully he didn't want her to leave! Afterall, she was his date for the dance. She still wasn't sure if he asked her as a friend, or more than a friend. Maybe this was the time she'd figure out...
Sam suddenly realized that she had no reason why she was there. What would she say when he asked why she was there? She could always say the dance. That way she could ask the time they were going to meet there or something. But what was the real reason she had come? Finally, she realized she had come just to see Shane. There was no other reason why she wanted to come. Maybe I should tell Shane how I feel...Or maybe not. Maybe that would ruin our friendship... After a moment, she decided she would tell him if he brought it up.

Shane couldn't be any more happier to see Sam here. He smiled as he looked at her, until it faded when she spoke. "No, no, no, no! You don't leave." he quickly said, taking one of her hands in both of his and pulling her inside so she couldn't leave. He then closed the door behind them and smiled to her, giving her a big hug, kissing the top of her head. "Aww ... you're a life saver you know that." he said, looking back at her.
Shane's mind was racing. He was debating whether or not they would discuss them. Maybe not straight away, wait a bit. He looked at her. "Take a seat Sam, get comfy." he said. "So Sammy, what brings you to my ... er ... lovely cabin?" he asked, smiling. He sat himself back down on his bed, looking at her.

No, no, no, no! You don't leave. Sam grinned and shrugged. "Ok, ok! I guess I can stay!" She teased. She smiled even bigger when Shane pulled her inside and gave her a hug. Just being with Shane made her smile. She pretended it didn't, but she knew it did. Aww ... you're a life saver you know that. She laughed and jokingly replied, "I do know."
Take a seat Sam, get comfy. Sam smiled and sat down on his bed and watched as Shane sat down beside her. So Sammy, what brings you to my ... er ... lovely cabin? Great. She was hoping he wouldn't ask. She was about to use her excuse of asking about the dance, but finally decided to tel the truth. Well, part of it anyway. "Well...I was just walking around the camp and I saw your cabin. Just figured I'd stop by." She answered with small smile. Although she was smiling on the outside, she was nervous on the inside. Would she seem desperate.

Shane's smile grew bigger as she said she would. She would have anyway. He wouldn't have left her alone if she wouldn't. Shane smiled. He felt happy with Sam in his arms. "Good. You're just amazing and you've now taken my mind off of the most boring day i could ever have here at camp." he said happily.
Shane looked at her. This was probably the first time Sam had actually been in his cabin. The thought made him kick something under the bed when his legs were hanging off of the end. He smiled as he listened to her answer. "Aww ... well i'm glad you did. I probably would have died of boredom." he said, smiling. It felt just right being with Sam. And they were alone, maybe they could talk about things. But how could it start?

Good. You're just amazing and you've now taken my mind off of the most boring day i could ever have here at camp. Sam grinned and shrugged. "No problem. Today was pretty boring for me too." She replied. That was definitely true. She had all ready been to all of her classes, and practiced her vocals, but she was still bored. Shane always cheered her up though.
Aww ... well i'm glad you did. I probably would have died of boredom. Sam laughed and nodded. "Same here. Today has definitely been the most boring day of camp." She said. Boring days at Camp Melford were unusual. They were usually always fun. "So... She wanted to firgure out if they were friends or 'special' friends but she wasn't sure how to bring it up. "So, about the dance...I've been wondering, did you ask me as friends or well, more than friends?" She said quickly. She was really hoping she didn't just make a fool of herself.

Shane looked at Sam and smiled. "Really? Surely classes weren't that boring?" he asked. Shane didn't exactly have classes ... but he still went. He also helped out in classes too, instructor and all. It was what he signed up to when he became a counselor at Camp Melford. But he enjoyed it ... it was all a great experience for him. He loved every moment of it. He wouldn't exchange it for anything.
Shane was surprised that Sam's day was just as boring as his, apparently. It felt weird being so bored at Camp Melford. Every day was usually just as great as the other. Why the sudden change? Perhaps just an off day. Shane looked at Sam as she then asked him something a little fast. He ran her question again through her head. He smiled. Should he just say something or the actual truth. "Um ... do you want the truth or just an answer?" he asked, smiling at her. It was a rhetorical question. "Well ... ok ... i have a confession." he said. He paused and sighed, thinking how to word it.

Really? Surely classes weren't that boring? Sam smiled and shrugged. "They weren't really, but I just had a lot on my mind today." She answered. Hopefully he wouldn't ask what was on her mind because the answer was him. She usually focused on class and stuff, but she couldn't help but think of him today.
Um ... do you want the truth or just an answer? Sam frowned, wondering if the truth was good or bad. Oh, great. He just wants to be friends and I just made a fool of myself. After a moment she quietly answered, "Well, I'd like the truth." He was smiling, and that made her feel better, but he could have been doing it out of pity. Well ... ok ... i have a confession. Sam bit her lip and nodded. "Ok. What is it?" She asked quietly. She had a feeling he was about to say he asked her to make someone else jealous or something.

Shane looked at Sam and slowly nodded. He was tempted to ask her what had been on her mind today, maybe that was too far into invading personal thoughts, so he kept quiet. Instead, he decided to finish that subject. "Fair enough then." he said simply.
Shane smiled and nodded. "Obviously." he said. He then sighed. He was going to do it. He'd never actually done this sort of thing ... so he didn't know what to say exactly. Maybe he wouldn't use directly, let her just understand from what he says. "Ok, well ... there's this girl that i know. She's one of my best friends, the greatest person ever. And well ... i actually really really like her. I've been wanting to tell her for ages ... but i thought it wouldn't work the way i wanted and our friendship would be awkward and different. So i had a go by asking her to the dance ... as more than a friend," he explained, pausing as he looked at her. "And she said yes." So that's how he said it.
[ ooc ;; so basically the whole 'discussion' or whatever will be this thread not the beach XD ]

Listening to Shanes story, Sam bit her lip nervously and looked down at the ground. When he said the part of asking the girl he liked to the dance, and she said yes, she glanced up at him. The story sounded a lot like her, but she definitely wasn't going to assume things and look like an idiot. You never know; Maybe he asked Sam by mistake or couldn't help but ask the other girl even after asking Sam.
Sam wasn't sure how to put her question in words. Finally she just decided to come out and ask it. "Ok, so I have to ask this...am I the girl?" She asked nervously. She really didn't want him to say no for two reasons. The first was, well, obvious. She liked him, and she was hoping that he felt the same way. And the second reason was if he said, she would look like an idiot.
(Sounds good to me =)

So Shane hadn't exactly said that it was Sam that he liked, he just left the girl unknown. He had hoped that Sam would get exactly where he was going with this discussion, and exactly who he was talking about. It would be a lot easier for him and wouldn't seem too awkward for him. Even if she didn't, it wouldn't bother him. It would just prove he probably had to explain a bit more.
Shane looked at Sam and listened to her. His lips curved up into a side smile. "You know Sammy, you tend to be really bad at stating the obvious." he said, amused. He looked at her. "Let me tell you in a more understandable english." he teased. He looked straight into her eyes, feeling happy as he just stared. "Yes Sam. You're that very girl." he explained. Now that it was out and said, there was no taking it back. He wouldn't want to if he could ... unless it affected their friendship.

You know Sammy, you tend to be really bad at stating the obvious. Sam grinned and shrugged. "Yeah, but that's why I'm loved!" She teased. She waited nervously for Shane to answer her question. They were really good friends; what if he only liked her as a friend? Or what if this ruined their friendship? She definitely didn't want that. Although, it would be nice to finally figure out howhe felt about her. She always wondered if he thought of her as only a friendd and she was about to get her answer.
Let me tell you in a more understandable english. Sam smiled weakly and nodded as she awaited his answer. She bit her lip and looked down at her lap, worried about his next answer. It seemed like a lifetime but finally his answer came. Yes Sam. You're that very girl. Hearing him say this, her stomach was filled with butterflies, but they were only there for a second. She smiled and looked up at him. "Really? Because I've had a crush on you since before Camp started." She said quietly.

Shane couldn't help but let a small laugh escape. He looked down at Sam, smiling. "Yes, that's why you're loved." he agreed. By what he said and the voice he had to say it, it that didn't prove that he liked her without just spitting it out, then nothing would be any more convincing. It felt good for him to let what he was feeling off of his shoulders. That massive weight he had been carrying since he met Sam was finally lifted. It was a relief, and a good thing.
Shane's smile spread across his face as he then took Sam's hands in his. "No, not really. I'm just making a complete idiot of myself." he joked, with a simple smile. He smiled again. "Before camp started aye? Well ... i feel bad i haven't exactly liked you that long, seeing as i didn't know you and all. But i've felt that way since i met you." he said.
