the dreams that I'm dreamin' Autumn walked up to the gates after a long sad weekend. It was a family thing she had to go to and it was the first one her dad had missed. She hated him being at the war, but things happen that she couldn't control.Autumn walked up to the gates as she let another tear fall from her wet face. She sat down on a rock beside her to make sure she wouldn't cry anymore.
She meet so many people at camp and she found her family. She now knew her step sister was Sam and her step brother was David. So she was happy about that and loved being their sister, they never use step with each other. Which was awesome because she loved having them as family. But sometimes it got confusing and people asked why her and David and Sam, the three some, where so close. Autumn just told them they where steps and walked away.
Autumn had a different personally than other girls. She was crazy, clumsy, and just different. She loved to just be with guys because that was who she was around all her life. She was always with her dad, her role model. She loved him and still today called him Daddy. She was such a daddy's girl. But she just was different. She was always nice and when she tried to be mean she couldn't, it was hard for her to be mean. But sometimes when you catch her on a bad mood she would snap and start yelling. It was just the way she was, and she loved herself for her personally, she didn't mind being different.

Ok, so there we a few times when camp was quite boring. Those were the worst moments of the whole summer. And to make it worse for Shane, he spent most of those times alone ... which made it even worse. So, Shane had to do something to keep himself occupied. And that usually meant playing music. So he carried around his guitar a lot, walking around for inspiration.
Shane had already met quite a few people this year, most of whom he already knew ... most being girls of course. But he wasn't planning anything with any of those girls ... well ... except one in particular. Sam Hillman. She was the one. Shane had a lot of love songs that were aimed at her. That's just how Shane was ... and how he felt.
As Shane walked around, guitar in his hand, he noticed a familiar face. It was Autumn ... a very good friend of Shane's. She was one of the girls he had met this year. He then walked up to them from behind and got nice and close. "Guess who." he whispered from behind her in her ear.

Shane loved being here on camp. He got away from a lot of things. He also met new people and was able to hang out with all of his friends that went to camp with him, like his brothers Nate and Jason, and Ashley and Emily and Sam. Then there was the new girl he met ... Autumn. Most of the people he knew at camp were girls ... it didn't bother him all that much really. He loved it here. He loved spending time with his brothers and friends.
Shane looked at Autumns face. He could tell that she had been crying. This made his smile slowly fade from his face as he fell curious. When about to ask if everything was ok she spoke. He looked down at his guitar. "Yeah i suppose you could say that. he said. He then shrugged slightly. "Yeah well i was a'ight ... but seeing one of my best friends not in a good mood has gotten me concerned." he asked, looking at her. Best friends. Even though he had only met her just recently ... hey clicked. He took a seat beside Autumn. "Do you wanna talk about anything?" he asked. He was one of those guys that listened. Friends were important to him.

Shane looked at Autumn. She asked him if he had a band. Well, him and his brothers had their own band ... a brotherly family one. But he didn't actually have a band that wasn't just family. He was wondering why she asked him that. "Well ... me, Nate and Jase are in a band together. Why do you ask?" he asked. When it came to music, Shane was all for it. Music was his life really ... it was a part of his family way before he was born. He had grown up with music. So it was who he was.
As Autumn gave him a hug, this caught Shane unaware. He was just thinking about giving her a hug to comfort her. He wrapped his arms around her. He could tell that a hug was really what Autumn needed right now. Shane listened to what Autumn said, resting his cheek on the top of her head. He then patted her back. "Aww ... Autumn. I'm sorry to hear that. It's must be really hard for you." he sighed. Even though he listened, he was horrible at trying to figure out what to say to make them feel better. "Is there anything i can do to help?" he asked.

the dreams that I'm dreamin' Autumn looked at him as they talked about music. She wanted to start a band since she was little but the one she made she had to move away from. Maybe her and Sam should start a band but she wanted someone to help her write music with the lyrics she wrote, she never played guitar that well. But she still tried to but she need lessons but when she got into them she moved again."Well ... me, Nate and Jase are in a band together. Why do you ask?" She sighed as she shrugged her shoulders. " Well i always wanted to make a band but when i did i had to move away, now i'm trying to open another one with the people i'm going to live near, you, Nate, Sam, Jason, David and someone like family or really close friends."She said as she smiled at him.
Autumn really needed the hug, and it was comforting, she was going to repay him for it one day, sometime. As they where in the hug she didn't want to let go of the hug because it reminded her of the ones her dad gave her. "Aww ... Autumn. I'm sorry to hear that. It's must be really hard for you."Autumn thought of her dad at the moment and every moment, but this one the most. She worried about him and for him the most. She nodded as she looked at his back. "Yeah but we still keep in touch, i couldn't live without him."She said as she looked down. "Is there anything i can do to help?" She heard barely. "No i just want to be there with him, but with both know i can't." She said as she let a tear fall down from her eyes.

Shane looked at Autumn as he waited for her to respond. He was still curious as to why she wanted to know about a band. Not curious in a bad way ... just curious. After all, the topic of the conversation was music ... so he was all for talking about it. That was just him. Then he listened to her answer and nodded. He smiled. "Well i've never been in a band with a girl before. Unless you want to count Nate when he was younger and his voice was girly and hadn't broken yet." he smirked.
Shane was one of those guys that loved hugs. He was considered a big teddy bear. He was just really cuddly. He loved to get and give hugs. It was just him. He patted her hair. He couldn't think of what to say, so just continued to listen. He then looked at her face as he saw a tear. He then whipped it away. "Yeah, that would really suck. But it's better to at least keep in touch than to have to contact at all." he said, patting her hair again.

Shane looked at Autumn and smiled, glad he was able to get a laugh from her. It was a good sign, showed he wasn't hopeless when he didn't know what to say. That made him feel better about it. He smirked. "Well he did. Not that it was a bad thing, lots of people didn't care ... we didn't." he said. He then shrugged. "Still not the same though. I'd like to sing something with a chick." he said. It would be cool. The types of songs that came to his head when it came to singing a song with a girl was love songs. He wouldn't mind that ... especially if Sam was involved.
In the corner of his eye, Shane remembered he had a bag around the guitar case. He let go of the hug with one hand, keeping one arm still around his friend and picked up his bag, taking something out. "I'm no pro with knowing how to cheer a girl up ... but i do know that chocolate makes people feel a bit better." he said, giving a small smile as he opened the Hershey's chocolate bar and offered Autumn some. "Take some. You need it." he said.

Shane and this brothers had always been sort of like a boy band. They never really called themselves a boy band, but that's what they were like. But he had never really thought much of an extended band. He had of course thought about the whole thing with singing with girls though. Maybe if ... Autumn was in the band, they could have that and then make their band bigger and get a much more mixed rate of music. It would be awesome! Shane laughed. "You know, i think i might have one." he said. He looked at her and nodded. "Yeah, you're probably right with that." he said, smiling. He smirked. "You know A, i haven't heard you sing yet. I'm curious." he said, smirking.
He smiled at her, putting the chocolate down on his lap. He looked at her. "Anytime Autumn. I'm always here for you. Not just as a counselor but mostly a friend. It'll be ok, you've got all of us here at Camp Melford to occupy you, to help get you through." he said, smiling.

the dreams that I'm dreamin' Autumn looked at Shane as she smiled, She liked being with him, he was so funny and he made her feel better, with anything even if she didn't want to live the rest of her life, but that would never happen. Autumn wondered what it was like to be in a band, any band. You know, i think i might have one." Autumn laughed as she smiled "You got to show me sometime."She said as she smiled, hoping he would. "Yeah, you're probably right with that."Autumn sighed and smiled"I'm right with everything DUH!" She then laughed as she looked around the town. She held onto her knee tightly as she felt a breeze go by, making her a little cold. "You know A, i haven't heard you sing yet. I'm curious."Autumn sighed as she looked at him again. "Really? I thought i have. Umm, will i'm very shy about it but i sing to my best friends." She said as she nudged him with a smile on her face.
She then looked at him as she smiled."Anytime Autumn. I'm always here for you. Not just as a counselor but mostly a friend. It'll be ok, you've got all of us here at Camp Melford to occupy you, to help get you through."Hearing that made her feel better. It reminded her of the words her dad said to her before he left Autumn if anything happens i'm always right here. Autumn held to her heart as she sighed. "I know but no one really knows me as much as my other friends do, Shane you and Nate know me best here, besides my family here."She said as she felt a little left out.

Shane smiled. Now he was actually thinking about the whole band thing. How cool would it be to have Autumn in the band? It would be cool. He'd love to have one of his best friends in the same band with him. He'd only ever had his brothers ... not that that was a bad thing. Shane laughed. "Yeah, don't worry. I'll show you sometime. We'd better make sure Nate isn't around. He might murder me if i get an embarrassing video." he said, grinning innocently. He looked at Autumn and laughed. "Are you really? Well you're just little miss smarty-pants then are you?" he asked, smirking. He looked at her. "Are you getting cold? You want my jumper?" he asked. Usually that's what a guy does if he likes the girl. But Shane does like her, just not that way. He'd been raised to be such a gentlemen, so it was just like him to offer his jumpers or be of any assistance. His mother raised him well. He looked at her, taking off his jumper and offering it to her. He smiled. "Nope, you've havn't," he said. He then gasped. "So am i not one of your best friends then Autumn? I'm hurt." he said in a mocking hurt voice.
Shane looked at her, listening. "Well, you know. The reason no one really knows you is because you havn't gotten out there! You need to explore ... socialize! That way you meet more people. You never know ... some people may surprise you. How? Don't ask me ... i really don't know." he said, laughing.

The thing Shane loved about his friends was that he always had fun with them, no matter what they were doing. Whether it was hanging out, just talking, going somewhere or whatever, he always had a blast with them. Plus, they knew how to make him happy and smile, which was great. It proved how much of a friend Autumn was to him, because he was happy and smiling. He nodded, smiling. "Promise." he said, smirking. He then laughed and hugged her back. "I'm only playing around. Only sing if ya wanna. But the sooner, the sooner i can see if you deserve to be the girl for the band." he said, smiling.
Shane looked at Autumn and laughed. "I mean, i only know you well because i've stopped and had long conversations an all with you. Like really long conversations, enough to make me sick of you ... only joking. You need to have those sorts of conversations with other people. That way more people will know more about you." he said, smiling.
